Biography

The wife of Samuel C. Briggs is variously cited as being named "Sarah" or "Mary." "Mary" seems more likely. She is called "Molly" in the Will of her sister Margaret (Logan-654), recorded in 1808, Lincoln Co., KY. In the letters of Mary Logan Smith (Logan-146, daughter of Gen. Ben. Logan), she names the children of David Logan and Jane McKinley as: "three daughters, Mary, Margaret and Elizabeth, and five sons, Benjamin, John, Hugh, William and Nathaniel." - Bill Vincent

There is no record of a daughter name Sarah for David Logan. In the letters of Mary Logan Smith (daughter of Gen. Ben. Logan), she names her aunts and uncles (the children of David Logan and Jane McKinley) as: "three daughters, Mary, Margaret and Elizabeth, and five sons, Benjamin, John, Hugh, William and Nathanial." She would likely be our best source.
