Janet (Logan) Moore migrated from New England to Truro, Nova Scotia.

Janet was born in 1746. She was only 14 when she married Hugh Moore (age 22) and sailed with his family to become part of the first wave of Township Grantees that founded Truro. Hugh and Janet received a tract of land for farming along the Salmon River. She had 8 children. She passed away in 1818.

Jennet Logan was born circa 1740[1]), the daughter of unknown parents.

Note: The surnames Moor and Moore are used interchangeably in these references.

In 1759, in Rockingham, Londonderry, New Hampshire, she married Hugh Moor, and they came to Truro Nova Scotia[2] [3] [4]

Their children[1] included:

  1. Mary, bom circa 1762, who married Michael Lovett Tucker, October 13th, 1785[5]
  2. Janet (Fanny), bom in Truro, March 28th, 1765[6], who married John Faulkner.
  3. Sarah, born March 3rd, 1769[7], who married Daniel McKenzie and lived to Pictou
  4. Robert, born in Truro, October 2, 1770[8], who married Margaret, daughter of William O'Brien and Lydia Harris, December 28th, 1797. He learned the wheelwright business from uncle, William Moor
  5. John, born in Truro, February 14th, 1772[9], who married Susannah Hunter Harris, daughtor of Dr. John Harris, June 7th 1803
  6. Elizabeth, born November 27th, 1773[10], who married John Dickson of Onslow Mountain, in November 1804.
  7. Hugh Jr, bom in Truro, May 20th, 1776[11], who married Margaret, daughter of Andrew O'Brien and Margaret Denny of Noel, October 20th, 1814[12]. He inherited his father's farm, whore he spent his life. He died January 11th, 1864, aged 88 years.
  8. Alice, born in Truro, August 27th, 1778[13]. She died unmarried, December 26, 1860, aged 82 years.

Jennet died in Truro November 28, 1818[1], and is buried in the Robie St Cemetery in Truro[14]

Morrison Logan-1 and Logan-7345 appear to represent the same person because: I regret that I did not find your Janet Logan and created a second one. I you look at Leonard Smith's book you will see that Janet Morrison was Hugh's mother and Janet Logan was his wife. Hugh's father was also named Hugh which is how the two get so easily confused:
