Biography

Lutetia was born 1/20/1861 and is the daughter of John Roberson and Mary "Polly" Harmon Logue. Died November 21, 1933, and they are buried at Springhill Church where they had been members by transfer since 1887.


The Cairo Messenger, November 24, 1933 Dies Tuesday - Mrs. Luticia Logue Gainous Passes At Age Of 73

Mrs. Luticia Logue Gainous, widow of the late Mr. J. H. Gainous, well-known Grady Countian, passed away at her home four miles northwest of Cairo at six o'clock Tuesday evening. She had been in poor health about two years, but suffered a stroke of paralysis last Saturday, which caused her death. She was born near Bainbridge 73 years ago last January 21st but had resided in what is now Grady County for the past 47 years. Her husband died on December 5th four years ago. Mrs. Gainous joined the Methodist Church when a girl and was always loyal to her church. She was a devoted wife and mother and was admired by many for her kindliness and neighborliness. The funeral and interment were at the Spring Hill church and cemetery Thursday morning at 10 o'clock, in charge of Rev. H. G. Shearhouse and Elder E. D. Underwood. Surviving are one sister, Mrs. Joe Johnson, Whigham, and the following children: A. G. Gainous, Wauchula, Fla.; Sherwood W. Gainous, Cairo; Mrs. Ola Ponder, Ft. Worth, Texas; Hardy Gainous, Pelham; Jason, Johnson and Henry Gainous, Cairo; Mrs. D. G. Alred, Birmingham, Ala.; and Mrs. Sam Norton, Cairo.
