Biography

Mrs. Amanda M. Riley, 90, died at the Fayette County Hospital in Vandalia on Monday, November 10, 1969. Born Feb 22, 1879, at Elliottstown, she was a daughter of William and Elizabeth Gilmore Logue. On June 12, 1901 she married to John Riley in Altamont, Effingham Co., Il. He died in 1919. Surviving are two sons, Eldridge Riley of Alton and Charles at home; three daughters, Mrs. Leland (Jennie) Hubbart of Roxana, Mrs. Cleo (Geraldine) Hopper of Keyesport, and Mrs. James (Lucille) Parks of Altamont; two sisters, Mrs. Lora riley and Mrs. Ida Weaver both of St. Elmo; seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Thursday in St. Clare Catholic Church. Burial was in Mt. Moriah cemetery, Loudon Township. Obituary- Altamont News
