Françoise Loiseau was born about 1638 in Compiegne, Soissons, Picardie, France to to Nicolas Loiseau, and Françoise Feriege. Some time in early to mid 1669 Francoise was recruited as a Fille du Roi or a daughter of the king. This meant she was was among a group of women ordered by the King to be recruited and sent to New France to marry the colony's settlers.

Shortly after her arrival in the new world, Francoise married Mathurin Grégoire, the son of to Mathurin Grégoire, and Marguerite Testoin and a Carignan Soldier who had been sent to New France to combat the Iroquois. They were married on October 07, 1669 at Cap-Rouge, Quebec, New France. They are known to have had six children, evenly split between three boys and three girls. They must have lived at Sillery in 1670 and 1671 as their first two children were born there. This is an old area to the west of Quebec City that was eventually incorproated into the main city. The two middle children were baptized in Notre-Dame de Québec, but it is not known where the last two were born or baptized.

They must have moved to Contrecoeur as two younger children married there in 1710 and 1718. Françoise and her husband, Mathurin died only a day apart with Mathurin going first on Oct. 27, 1728 and Françoise the next day on the same day her husband was buried. She was laid to rest a few days later on Oct. 31, 1728. They both died at Contrecoeur. This seems to be quite the coincidence, but both their burial records have been found.
