Biography

According to her marriage record, Dorothy Lombardo is born 25 July 1927 in Columbus, Ohio. She is the daughter of John Joseph Lombard and his first wife, Antoinette Marie Iannarino.

In the 1930 federal census of Columbus, Ohio, Ward 3, taken 5 April, John J. Lombardo, 33 (b. 1897), heads a household at 1057 Wilson Ave with his wife Ann M., 24 (b. 1906), and daughter Dorothy M. 2 yr 9 mo (b. July 1927). John and Ann married when he was 29 and she was 20 (4 ya; m. 1926). He was born in Indiana of Italian parents. She was born in Ohio of Italian parents. Dorothy was born in Ohio. John is a fruit dealer working on commission, on his own account.[1]

Dorothy's mother dies in 1935 at age 29.[2]

Her father, John, remarries to Angeline Rose Vicario, whose father, Tony Vicario, is a Black Hand extortionist associated with the Society of the Banana. Tony, his brother, and seventeen others, mostly Sicilian fruit merchants, were found guilty of extorting John Amicon following a postal investigation in 1909.

Dorothy, marries Tony's son, Joseph Vicario.

Joseph S. Vicario and Dorothy M. Lombardo marry in Franklin County, Ohio. Joseph is 27 on 6 September 1949. He lives at 320 B Brown St., Bellefontaine, Ohio. He was born in Bellefontaine. He is a boiler maker apprentice. His father is Tony Vicario. His mother is Providence Cira. Dorothy is 22 on 25 July 1949 (b. 1927). She lives at 1057 Nelson Ave Columbus OH. She was born in Columbus, she is a bookkeeper. Daughter of John Lombardo and Antoinette Iannarino. They marry on 31 July 1950.[3]

Dorothy Marie Lombardo Vicario, born 25 July 1927 in Columbus, Ohio, dies at age 93 on 17 October 2020 in Bellefontaine, Ohio. She is buried in Calvary Cemetery in Bellefontaine.[4]
