In 1902 Voter’s Roll a Charles Lomberg is listed as a cab proprietor living at 36 Bryant St., Cape Town. His property was worth £3600.

A Charles Lomberg witnessed a baptism of Winifred Norris, daughter of bricklayer on 9 Jan 1898 in St John’s Anglican in Wynberg Maybe the same Charles Lomberg. 1 baptism notice on Jan 26 1864 in St John’s Evangelist for a Charles Barnett Lomberg, born to Rosa Scholtz of Castle St, a single woman, with father not stated is probably the same Charles. The witnesses at the baptism were Lambert Lomberg and Charlotte Lomberg, siblings to John Lomberg who married Rosa Scoltz 6 years later and perhaps adopted her son. 1

Civil death notice says that Charles Barnett Lomberg was of European race and died of cerebral haemorrhage after 3-4 weeks of angina pectoris at age 79 on July 6 1942. His residence was 23A Leeuwen St, Cape Town. He was a carpenter in the building trade, but at the time of death an old age pensioner. 1

Could he have married Catherine Elizabeth (Delport) Lomberg (1868-1943), a widow of mixed race whose residence at time of death was 32 Leeuwen St?. ^{[10][11][12][13][14]}
