Daisy died in a boating accident on the Ohio River.
A special to the Press from Bellaire, O, says: While returning from a pleasure trip down the Ohio river Sunday afternoon, Mrs Mary Long, aged 43, her daughter Daisy, aged 17, Thomas Bennett, aged 18, and William Francis, aged 22, rowed too close to the wheel of the United States snagboat, EA Woodruff, which is moored near the mouth of McMechan creek and was sucked in by the swift current, capsizing their boat and drowning Mrs Long and her daughter. The water at this point is about 30 feet deep and there was nothing done to recover the bodies Sunday night. Mrs Long leaves a husband, two sons and one daughter. The captain and crew of th Woodruff did all in their power to rescue them, but were helpless.
