Sarah was born around 1831 in Cherry Burton, Yorkshire, England,[1] where she lived with her parents in 1841.[2]
In 1852 she married Joseph THACKER in Hull.[3][4] In 1861 they lived in the village of Walkington, Yorkshire, and Joseph was an agricultural labourer.[5] The family had moved to the hamlet of Riplingham, Yorkshire, by 1871.[6][7]
Joseph died in 1879.[8] In 1891 Sarah worked as a housekeeper in Riplingham.[9] In 1901 she lived at 24 Lorne Street, Hull, with her son Ernest.[10]
