Emily (Long) Ball was born in Yorkshire, England.
Emily was born in 1903[1] in Hull, Yorkshire, England. She was the daughter of Charles Long and Sarah Oliver; her mother died in 1904 aged 27[2] and her father died in 1911 at the age of 31.[3]

At the time of the 1911 census in April, Emily was living with her father's siblings at 48 Trinity Lane, Beverley, Yorkshire.[4]

She married Frederick Redvers Ball in 1926.[5] In 1939 the family lived on Trinity Lane in Beverley. Frederick was a "male nurse" and Emily carried out unpaid domestic duties.[6]

Emily died in 1971.[7]
