• Obituary Ed Long, 76, of Wilmington, passed away on Thursday morning, Feb. 25, 2016 at Clinton Memorial.
• He was born on Aug. 12, 1939 in Madison County, the son of Lawrence Simon Long and Goldie Marie Exline Long.
• A graduate of Simon Kenton High School and a Navy veteran, Ed retired from Lowe's Garden Center. He was also a founding member of the Calvary Baptist Church.
• Ed is survived by his wife, Barbara Wise Long, whom he married June 12, 1965.
• Also left to cherish Ed's memory are his children, Jeni (Shawn) Crowe and Monte (Melody) Long of Wilmington, along with five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
• Also surviving are siblings, Grace (Roger) Everhart, Dorothy (Robert) LaPine and Carol (Irvin) Pollock; sisters in-law, Irma Carol Long and Sue Long; and brother in-law, Charles Adams.
• Ed was preceded in death by siblings, Barbara Adams, Robert and Wayne Long.
• Family will receive friends on Sunday from 1-3 p.m., with a funeral service beginning at 3 p.m. at the Littleton Funeral Home, Sabina. Burial will follow in the Centerville Cemetery, Lees Creek.
