Research

A marriage record from Nevada in 1981 continues to show up. I believe this may be a vow renewal of some kind, as they married well before their children were born. I will have to ask one of their children to see if I can clarify it.

UPDATE ON VEGAS LICENSE: After talking to their children and Violet's siblings, no one was sure what this was. There was a trip out west that everyone remembers. So, I got certified copies of the Vegas license. It's real and it's their handwriting. Consensus among the family is that my grandparents were not able to get a copy of their original license and perhaps needed one for SS or Pension reasons. I have spoken to the clerk of the county where they were married in 1949 and also an alternate county and neither county has a certificate on record. They definitely had a wedding in 1949, as the surviving siblings remember it. We believe the paperwork was lost or never filed and this was my grandma's solution to the problem. I guess that's how we got our problem solving abilities!
