According to the import information, JAMES LONG was born 1708 in Hansonville, Russell Virginia; however, the father, JAMES LONG was not documented in Hansonville. He was recorded in Albermarle, Chowan Precinct, North Carolina in 1701 where he was appointed a Vestry for St. Paul's Parish, Chowan Precinct in 1701.[1]
JAMES LONG of the county of Tyrrell in the Provence of North Carolina wrote his Last Will and Testament on 13 Dec 1752, and it was filed at March Court 1753.[2] The will noted:
to my three sons - JAMES STEPHEN and LEVI LONG all my land in Seuper Cong[SP]...my son ISAAC LONG the plantation I now live on...daughter MARY NORMAN...and her husband SAMUEL NORMAN...daughters ANN JEMIMA and SARAH...loving wife MARY LONG... my four sons and three daughters that is to say JAMES STEPHEN LEVI and ISAAC LONG ANN JEMIMA and SARAH LONG...RICHARD BURTENSHELLS Decd heir fifty acres of land...Executors wife MARY LONG and jointly with her my well beloved son JAMES LONG my well beloved brother [Long-2556 | GILES LONG]]...written 13 Dec 1752 in presence of JAMES HOLLAND, Junr, HERN HOLLAND, ELIZABETH LONG
