Biography

When James was about 13 he married on 16 February 1782 in Caswell, North Carolina.[1]

He was named in his father Ambrose's 1790 will as follows: "Item to my son James Long I give one hundred acres of land joining the lines of my son John[[illegible-Trukey?] and Pryor"[2]

James was named as the father of Jamima Harris' unborn child in 1793[3] and Polly Nunn's child in 1808.[4]

James married Seelia (Celia) Milam on 24 Jun 1814 in Person Co.[5] In the 1850 census, he was recorded in Person County as 81 years old, with wife Celia (65) and presumed daughter Martha (22).[6]

James died at the age of about 82 in 1851, when his will was probated in Person County, North Carolina.[7]
