Cecil is the son of John Long and Emma Wyman.
Cecil grew up in Vandergrift, PA He graduated in Redlands, CA in 1928.
In 1935 he and Dorothy Kaufman eloped. This was the befinning of a fairy tale marriage.
When we lived in PA Cecil was employed for a short time by the steel company in Vandergrift. Later he worked for ALCOA. After we established ourselves in Redlands, Ca he became a butcher working for Putnam Bros. He retired as a butcher after working as a civilian butcher in the commissary at March Air Force Base.
Along with his wife he built a 2 bedroom home with assistance from family. They actually scooped out the foundation with a horse drawn scoop.
It was January 21, 1989 when Cecil passed away from complications of a stroke. He was buried in Riverside at Crestline Memorial Park. He taught his oldest daughter how to chin herself and "sin a cat" on the branch of a tree in our orchard. He loved to hunt when we lived in PA but later said he would rather hunt with a camera.
