Biography

Long Cemetery #3, Newberry County, South Carolina, USA

VLHT: Records show that J.J.L. rec'd a grant of one hundred (!00) acres an Cannon Creek in year 1768. They lived in [whatis now] Newberry County and had three (3) children: Thomas, Bartholomew, and Adam. This Long home was located near Macedonia Church [in] Newberry County overlooking Saluda River & Camping Creek. Newberry records show: on November 26, 1810, 150 acres were deeded on North side of Camping Creek to John Thomas Long, George Bartholomew, and john Jacob Long (Sons of Bartholomew 2nd son of John Jacob Long).

John Thomas was the son of John Jacob and Elizabeth HAIR Long. John Thomas married Mary Magdalene Minnick (1776-1853) about 1793, Newberry S.C. They had eight children; six boys and two girls.
