Biography

Martha Jane Long was born on November 8, 1864 in Tuscarawas County, Ohio to Martin Long and Martha Ann Robinson Long. Martin Long was born to John Samuel Long and Sarah M. Long on April 9, 1841 in Newcomerstown, Tuscarawas County, Ohio. Martha Ann Robinson Long was born on February 1, 1845 in Ohio to Christopher Robinson. Martin Long passed away on August 3, 1926 in Hartville, Missouri. Martha Ann Robinson Long passed away on March 14, 1910 in Wright County, Missouri. Martin Long and Martha Ann Robinson Long are both buried at the Little Creek Cemetery in Hartville, Missouri.

Martha Jane Long was the oldest of six children. Her brothers and sisters are:

  • Matilda Pool (1866-1947)
  • Franklin Long (1868-1905)
  • Alice May Long Jones (1873-1902)
  • Ora Long Jones (1875-1938)
  • Bertie Izetta Long Newton (1884-1983)

Martha Jane Long married John Henry Hake on November 30, 1882. John Henry Hake was the son of Henry Miller Hake and Rachel Schaffer Wortman Hake.

Martha Jane Long Hake may have been known as Janie. At a website for Little Creek Cemetery some information has been added by the Wright County Historical Society. By Martin Long it lists his children as: Janie Hake, Tillie Pool, Ora Jones, and Bertie Newton.

John Henry Hake passed away on November 5, 1919 in Wright County, Missouri. He is buried at the Little Creek Cemetery in Hartville, Missouri.

Martha Jane Long Hake passed away on October 7, 1926 in Wright County, Missouri.

The Missouri Death Certificate No. 33916 states that Mrtha Jane Hake was a widow and her occupation was housekeeping. She was 61 years, 9 months and 29 days old. She passed away from a Duodenal Ulcer with contributary factor being obstruction of Peptic. A Duodenal ulcer is a type of peptic ulcer that occurs in the duodenum, the beginning of the small intestine.

Martha Jane Long Hake is buried at the Little Creek Cemetery in Hartville, Missouri.
