John Looker was born on August 28, 1808 in Rockingham, Virginia, United States, son of William Looker (~1780– ) and Rachel Bowers (1787-1854 ).

John married Edith Cottrell (born on October 30, 1809).^[1] Their children were:

• Abraham Looker (1830–1912)
• Mary Elizabeth Looker (1836–1905)

John died on January 18, 1854 in Hardin, Ohio, United States, aged 45.^[2]
