Joseph married Sarah Bissell in 1708 in Windsor, Hartford, Connecticut.[2]

Joseph died on 30 May 1738 in South Windsor, Hartford, Connecticut, and was buried at Edwards Cemetery, South Windsor, Hartford, Connecticut Colony.[7] He was referred to as a captain in his death records.
