Biography of Louisa Looney Shelby

Louisa was born in 1728. She was the daughter of Robert Looney and Elizabeth Lewellyn. [1]

According to a\the book Notable Southern Families, Louisa Looney married Captain John Shelby of the military organization of Washington County, Virginia.[2]

Louisa Looney, daughter of Robert and Elizabeth Lewellyn Looney, met her future husband in North Carolina. John Shelby (b. 1724 - d. 1794) went to North Carolina to join his brother Moses Shelby in1750 where he met Louisa Looney.

He established a station in the Watauga District known as Shelby's.
