Biography

OBITUARY: Patricio "Patrick" Daniel Lopez, age 82, passed away on Wednesday, October 27th, 2021, in Albuquerque, NM. Patrick was born in Albuquerque on March 27th, 1939, St. Patrick's Day.

His early years through high school were spent in the Barela's neighborhood. Patrick attended Coronado Elementary School, Washington Junior High School, Albuquerque High School and graduated from Valley High School in 1958, where he played basketball. He also attended San Jose State University in San Jose, California.

He served in the New Mexico National Guard in 1956 and served in the U.S. Army Reserve until 1964. He worked as a mediator for the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Services from 1976 through 1982, working and living in the Washington, D.C. area, and later San Francisco, and Mission Viejo, California. Most of his 47 California years were spent in Orange County, which is where he and Carolyn met in 1999. He founded his own Management Consulting firm, Advanced Labor Relations in 1982 and Labor Relations Solutions in 2000. Patrick was a very successful management consultant and contract negotiator. Patrick and Carolyn both decided to retire in 2012, and move to Corrales, where they have lived happily for the past nine years.

He was predeceased by his parents, David Lopez, and Catalina (Martinez). He is survived by his life partner of 22 and a half years, Carolyn Friedrich of Corrales; son, David Lopez of Albuquerque; sisters, Evangeline Lopez of Albuquerque, Theresa Johnson of Winston, Salem, North Carolina; Carolyn's sons, Eric Friedrich of San Marcos, California, Jeff Friedrich of Panama City Beach, Florida, four grandsons, and one granddaughter, five nieces and three nephews. He was loved by all and will be terribly missed.

A Rosary will be on Thursday, November 4th, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. followed by Mass at 10:30 a.m., at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church located at 1502 Sara Road S.E., in Rio Rancho, NM.

Interment with Military Honors will be at the Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM at a later date. I

n lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made for cancer research to The V Foundation, 14600 Weston Parkway, Cary, N.C. 27513, or to Shriner's Hospital for Children, P.O. Box 1510, Ranson, W.V. 25438-4510.
