Speculation from Jerry German. See Andrew's note. Pension #BLW3979, 16055 Henry filed his Rev War pension application at Cambridge, Md., in 1821. He gives his age at the time of application (1821) as 64, making his birth date 1757. He attested that he served in the 2nd Regiment of the Maryland Line (Thomas Wolford's Regt), in John Eccleston's Company of Infantry, as a Private. He enlisted near New Market in Dorchester County, Md. in 1778. He later took part in battles at Elizabethtown and Camden in SC and Guilford and Stony Creek in NC. (This would have been service under Gen. Gates and Green). Henry's property was valued by the court to which he made application for the pension at $20. He listed his effects as "one sow, 5 shoats, 4 chairs, a pot and a pan and some earthenware". He listed his wife in 1821 as Millie (age 35 born 1786), and a daughter Mary Ann age 3 and a son Henry age 2 months (age 62 at this time). Henry died on May 10, 1835 (age 78). Henry's widow filed an application for a Widow's pension for which a certificate was issued on Feb 9 1836, and sent to her lawyer in Cambridge. With her application, she filed an attestation by a Methodist minister in the Vienna District of Dorchester County that he had married Henry and Amelia (Millie) Flowers. (see notes above and following arguing that this is probably a second family for Henry).
Note that Henry traveled to Baltimore in 1818 to endorse Andrew's claim for his pension. In signing all these documents, Andrew and Henry signed by making their "mark" , an "X".
