Joseph Lord, son of Joseph Lord & Sarah (Wade) Lord was born 29 Nov 1757 in Lyme Connecticut and died 10 Aug 1839 in Pharsalia, Chenango County New York. He married Caroline Sterling 13 Dec 1731. She was the daughter of Capt. Samuel and Elizabeth (Perkins) Sterling of Sterling City, Lyme, born 21 May 1764, died 17 Jan
1861. Joseph served in the Revolutionary War in Col. Ely's Regiment, Connecticut Line. They moved to Pharsalia in 1803.[1]
CAROLINE STERLING, daughter of Samuel Sterling & Elizabeth (Perkins) Sterling was born 21 May 1764. She married Joseph Lord, in Dec., 1781, the son of Joseph and Sarah (Wade) Lord of Lyme, Conn.
Joseph Lord served in the Connecticut Militia during the Revolution.
"His record is not definitely established, though it seems probable that he was the 'Joseph Lord, Jr.' who entered Capt. Holmes Co., Aug. 3, 1778 ; discharged Sept. 14, 1778. This company of militia, a part of the force under Brig. Gen. John Tyler, served under Gen. Sullivan and engaged in the attempt to dislodge the British at Newport. Joseph was a pensioner during the latter years of his life, as was Caroline Sterling Lord after her husband's death."
Joseph and Caroline Lord moved to Chenango County New York about 1 June 1803. They settled at Pharsalia. Joseph died there 10 Aug 1839. Caroline died 17 Jan 1861 at 96 years, 7 mos. and 27 days.

Azubah Lord, b. 20 Mar 1794 ; m. Weaver ; moved to Ohio, had a family.
Joseph Lord, b. 27 Aug 1796; m. ; d. 7 Apr 1854 ; had one son, Albert and several daughters.
Samuel Sterling Lord, b. 20 Oct 1798; m. Desire Babcock.
David Lord, b. 23 Oct 1800; m. 1) Polly M. Brown, 2) Livonia Brown.
Roswell Lord, b. 17 Apr 1805 ; m. 1) Hannah Newton ;2), Amy Wheeler.[2]
Joseph Lord was born 29 Nov 1757 in Lyme, New London County, Connecticut and died 10 Aug 1839 (aged 81) in Pharsalia, Chenango County, New York. He was buried in the Lord Cemetery in Pharsalia.
"Revolutionary War veteran, state of Connecticut. He served for 10 months and 27 days under various commands from September 1776 through October 1781. He resided at the time in New London."
"Joseph married Caroline in the Town of Lyme, Connecticut on December 13, 1781 by the Rev. George Beckwith."
