Biography

William Henry Lord was born 24 November 1871, his birth registered in the Frome district, South Australia, the son of Henry Lord and Fanny Hobbs. In the South Australian Births 1842-1906 index on cdrom, in the birthplace/residence column it says 'Barrier Ranges (NSW)'. His obituary says he was born Mingary, South Australia, but it is possible the family hadn't registered his birth until they had moved on. Nevertheless, there should be two places named, if he was born in a different place to his normal residence. [1] [2]

In 1892, he married Ada Emma Rawlins at Silverton, New South Wales. [3]

William passed away in 1953. His death was registered in the Broken Hill district, New South Wales, the forenames of his parents indexed as Harry and Fanny. [4]
