Biography

Thomas was born in 1805, and according to his death certificate this was in Armley, a district of Leeds. His parents were John LORD and Maria PULLMAN. It is possible he was born in Armley because his mother appears to have been from there.

Nevertheless, he was baptised in Birstall on the 17th November 1805. John and Maria were from Driglington, which is in that parish, and John was a collier.

Charlotte AKEROYD and Thomas LORD were married on 19 Feb 1826 at Birstall, Yorkshire, England. They were both of Driglington. Thomas signed the register and Charlotte made an x.

They had a son, Theophilus Major in February 1829. He was baptised on the 19th February 1832 in the parish of Birstall (his birth date is given). The abode was Adwalton and Thomas was a joiner.

Chrissey Charlotte was baptised at the Chapelry of Driglington in the parish of Birstall on the 7th May 1833 (her birth date is not given). The abode was Adwalton and Thomas was still a joiner.

Her mother died and was buried on the 16th May at Driglington. The abode was given as Adwalton and Charlotte was 31.

Harriot RHODES and widower, Thomas LORD were married on 9 Sep 1833 at Huddersfield, Yorkshire, England.

Chrissey, now seemingly called Charlotte, most likely died in January 1835 and was buried on the 10th Jan at Driglington, the abode still Adwalton.

He passed away in 1875.
