Obituary
Josephine LoRe Gelpi died peacefully at her residence, after enduring Alzheimers for 10 years, on Friday, January 11, 2008. She was 90. Wife of the late Walter Francis Gelpi, Jr. Mother of Barbara G. Paci and David Allen Gelpi. Mother-in-law of Joseph V. Paci. Daughter of the late Josephine Giacona and Gus LoRe. She is survived by her brother, Gasper Lore and is preceded in death by 11 siblings. Grandmother of Joey, Gina, Jim, Janet, John, David, Brian, Danielle and Lauren. Also survived by 12 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Mrs Gelpi was born in New Orleans and lived in Kenner for the past 18 years. She was employed at the Jung Hotel and retired as a claims clerk for Fireman's Fund Insurance Co. in 1987 after 24 years of service. A Special thanks to caregivers at Summerville/ Summerbrook and Serenity Hospice. A Funeral Mass was celebrated on Tuesday, January 15, 2008, followed by interment in St. Roch Cemetery No. 1. Arrangements by L. A. Muhleisen and Son Funeral Home.
