Thomas, son of Thomas and Hannah (Jacob) Loring, was born at Hull, MA on March 15, 1667/68. He married Deborah Cushing, daughter of John and Sarah (Hawke) Cushing, at Boston, MA on April 19, 1699. They were married by Samuel Sewall, Esq. Deborah was born at Scituate, MA on September 7, 1674.
Thomas bought land in Duxbury, MA in 1702 and removed the family there by ca. 1704. He held the position of selectman in 1714 and then treasurer which he held until his death in 1717.
Thomas and Deborah had six children, the first two probably born in Hull, the rest in Duxbury. Thomas died intestate there on December 5, 1717. He is buried at Old Cemetery in South Duxbury, now known as Myles Standish Burying Ground.
Probate
On 11 October 1718, his widow Deborah was granted the letter of administration for his estate.[1]
Thomas Loring was a slaveholder. His inventory was taken on 14 February 1717/18 in Duxbury and it listed "three negroes" appraised at £100.[2]
In 1722, his real estate was appraised and divided.[3]
In 1724, his estate was distributed to his widow, Deborah, and his children, Thomas, Joshua, Nathaniel, Benjamin, Hannah, and Deborah.[4]
Deborah married second Col. Sylvester Richmond at Duxbury on February 18, 1727/28. She died at Little Compton, RI on October 18, 1770 at the age of 96.
