Karen Miller, a descendant of John's brother Samuel wrote via e-mail: "In 1952 or 53 John Lorman and his brother from Lowell Mass came to visit family in Saskatchewan. Their brother Samuel was still living. They went to visit my aunt Jean (Lillian Hanson's (Lorman) daughter) where I was living at that time. Great uncle John and his brother took my cousin and I to a drugstore where they bought us a box of chocolates! ... both men wore spats - I never knew what they were until then."
