John Benjamin LORN was born on the 16 December 1882 in Bermondsey, Surrey, England. He was baptised John Benjamin LORNE in Saint Paul, Bermondsey on the 31 January 1883. His parents were William Lorn and Sarah. The abode was 11, Edward Street, Bermondsey Street, and the trade was ‘General Dealer’. ^[1]

John's birth was registered under the name 'John LORN' in Saint Olave, Southwark, during the first quarter of 1883. His mother's maiden name in the birth index was PRYOR. ^[2]
