John Benjamin LORN was born on the 16 December 1882 in Bermondsey, Surrey, England. He was baptised John Benjamin LORNE in Saint Paul, Bermondsey on the 31 January 1883. His parents were William Lorn and Sarah. The abode was 11, Edward Street, Bermondsey Street, and the trade was ‘General Dealer’. [1]
John's birth was registered under the name 'John LORN' in Saint Olave, Southwark, during the first quarter of 1883. His mother's maiden name in the birth index was PRYOR. [2]

Canada

In 1911, John was single and living in Ross, Manitoba, Winnipeg, Canada, with his mother and brother. He was 28 and born in December 1882. His year of immigration to Canada was 1903. He was employed full time as a hostler in livery stables. He worked a 60 hour week. His mother Sarah was a widow. She was 59, born in December 1851 and not employed. John’s brother Harry was married. He was 26 and born in September 1884. Harry and Sarah's year of immigration to Canada was 1906. He was employed full time as an oil(?) maker in a factory. He also worked a 60 hour week. The family were all English, Canadian nationals and their religion was Anglican. [3].

John married Elizabeth Jane LIGHT on the 24 June 1911 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.[4]

Last Years

John passed away on the 18 December 1970 in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada. [5]
