Forrest Charles Losee Losee, Forest Charles – Age 95, of Roseburg, PASSED AWAY AT HIS HOME ON wEDNESDAY, jULY 16, 1997. He was born on June 7, 1902 in Colorado Springs, Colorado to Charles Andrew and Bertha Almin (Parsons) Losee and was the last of eight brothers and two sisters. On September 21, 1935 in Klamath Falls, Oregon he married Theda Myrtle Beard. Forest had lived in the Roseburg area since 1944. He owned and operated a grocery store in Idleyld Park from 1950 until 1975 when he retired. He was active in the community as a Counselor of Lions International, past governor of the Roseburg Moose Lodge #1037, past state president of the Oregon Moose Assn., life member of the Laurel Masonic Lodge #13 A.F. & AM. and past president of the Douglas County Shrine Club. He had spent many years as rajah for the Shrine Club assisting crippled children to receive free medical help at the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children. Mr Losee was a member of The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-day Saints. He is survived by his wife of nearly 62 years, Theda M. Losee of Roseburg; a daughter, Lorraine Losee Lander and her husband Dale of Roseburg; a son, Forest Losee, Jr.; two grandsons, Gregg Lander and his wife Joy of Beaverton, Oregon and Scott Lander and his wife Devinnie of Roseburg; one granddaughter, Cindy Lander Trout and husband Terry of Roseburg; seven great-grandchildren, Jenna and Kelsy Lander of Beaverton, Jacob, Kristel, Toby, Daniel and Tyson Lander all of Roseburg. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 21, 1997 at 3 p.m. at Wilson's Chapel of the Roses. Bishop Rodney Grizzard will officiate. Masonic Rites will be provided by Laurel Masonic Lodge #13 A.F. & A.M. Private entombment will follow in the Sanctuary of Rest Mausoleum within the grounds of Roseburg Memorial Gardens. At the family's request, in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mr. Losee's memory to the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children, 3101 S.W. Sam Jackson Park Road, Portland, OR 97201. WILSON'S CHAPEL OF THE ROSES is in charge of arrangements.
