Biography

During the War of 1812, Captain John Lottridge served in the 5th Lincoln Militia. He served continuously from October 17 to November 30, 1812. He had taken a leave from about November 14th to 20th, returned to service, and died at the end of the month. [1]

On November 28, 1812 he was killed at the attack on Fort Erie while a captain of the 3rd Lincoln. [2]

He was recorded as “dead” on a November 25, 1812 5th Lincoln Militia payroll. [3]

On November 29, 1812 John died of illness. His wife Nancy received a militia pension.[4]
