Private John Lougee served with New Hampshire Line during the American Revolution.

John was a Revolutionary War veteran. He was sent to war in place of his master according to his pension record. It needs to be determined if he was indentured or apprenticed.

John was born in 1757. He passed away in 1836. According to Find A Grave, he was born 8 August 1753 to Joseph and Elizabeth (Scribner) Lougee. [1]

On this seventh day of July A. D. one thousand eight hundred and fifty-five personally appeared before me a justice of the peace within and for the county and state of aforsaid Molly Lougee aged 95 years a resident of Calidonia in the state of Illinois who being duly sworn according to law declared that she is the widow of John Lougee deceased, who was a private in the company commanded by Captain Benj Sias in the regiment commanded by Stark and Gates in the Revolutionary War with Great Britain, and that her said husband enlisted.

She further states that she was married to the said John Lougee in Gilmanton N. H. on the 20th day of April A.D. 1782 by on Saml Hicks a minister and that her name before her said marriage was Molly Avery that her said husband died at Strafford N.H. on the 8th day of August A.D. 1836 and that she is now a widow, and draws pension Recorded in the Pension Office on the Roll of Pensioners under act February 2'd 1848, Page 91 Vol 1.

She makes this declaration for the purpose of obtaining the bounty land to which she may be entitled under the act approved March 3'd 1855.

We Sally Hanson and S. M. S. Hanson residents of Calidonia in the state of Illinois, upon our oaths declare that the foregoing declaration was signed and acknowledged by Molley Lougee, in our presence; and that we know the applicant, that she is the identical peson she represents herself to be, and her present widowhood, and the death of the husband, but she only had a family reckord of her marriage.

The foregoing declaration and affidavit were sworn to and subscribed before me this the day and year above written, and I certify that I know the officents to be credible persons, that the calmant is the person she prepresents herself to be, and that I have no interest in this claim. [signed by Hopkins L. P.]

Might not be the correct person) John Lougee Jr. came late in 1773, and established a fulling mill near Joshua Bean's grist mill. Gilmanton, NH. Married the daughter of Samuel Avery. Lougee Town is a neighborhood in Gilmanton. He moved from Exeter in 1778. Susan Lougee b. 1764 m. 1788 Peter Dudley b.1797 (f.Dea Stanley Dudley), Anna, Hannah, Peter, Susan & Nicolas Gilman.

Sally dau of John Lougee, m. Jotham Gilman, (son of Capt Jonathan Gilman (son of Maverick Gilman 22, Jan 1770, living in Gilmanton. children, Polly, Cotton, Joseph, Sally, Betsey, Alice, Abigal, Jotham d. 4 Mar 1819, Sally d. 5 Jan 1820.
