Welkom op WikiTree Johannes!

Baie van ons gemeenskaplike profiele soos die Jacobus (Loùw) Louw (bef. 1706 - 1776) is al aangemaak, jy hoef alleen jou eie lyn te koppel aan die naaste reeds bestaande nasaat van jou stamouers.

WikiTree se doel is om slegs een profiel per persoon te hê. Dit beteken dat daar gekyk moet word of ’n profiel al reeds bestaan, voordat ’n nuwe een geskep mag word. . 1 goeie tip: soek alleen op die van en dan vervolgens te sorteer op jaar van geboorte, oudste boaan ("dense" versie).

Wanneer jy naamlik met voorname ook soek, word alleen die eerste honderd getoon terwyl daar miskien 500 of 'n duisend name sal wees. Let viral op variaties in vanne - miskien het bestaan 'n profiel al met 'n ander variasie in die spelling. Het is ook WikiTree beleid om vanne presies so te spel soos op die doop rekords staan. Alle ander variasies van die spelling vir die persoon in sy/haar leeftyd, word meegeneem in ander velde.

As jy nuwe profiele aanmaak, maak seker dat jy die van spel word volgens die gangbare konvensies - van der Walt, du Preez, van der Merwe [ens.]. Hierdie program maak naamlik automaties vanne aan met hoofletters, tensy jyself die tussenvoegsel korrek "edit" voordat jy die profiel vir die eerste keer opslaan [save].
