Biography

1776 Project
Benjamin Love performed Patriotic Service in South Carolina in the American Revolution.
Daughters of the American Revolution
Benjamin Love is a DAR Patriot Ancestor, A071806.

Daughters of the American Revolution, DAR Genealogical Research Databases, database online, (http://www.dar.org/ : accessed November 17, 2015), "Record of Benjamin Love", Ancestor # A071806.

Supplied patriotic service, supplying goods, provisions, and a wagon and team.

There is also some confusion as to the wife of Benjamin. In his will he mentions his brother in law, William Gaston. People have assumed that would mean his wife was Jean Gaston. A Gaston was married to Mary Love which would have made him a brother in law....and as in many families there are several first cousin marraiges between the Gaston and the Love families. Many years ago I found a source that stated that Benjamin's wife was Jean Porter. I have not yet re-found that source. That is why I have put down both surnames.

The will of Benjamin Love found at South Carolina Department of Archives (online) - http://www.archivesindex.sc.gov/onlinearchives/ViewImage.aspx ?imageNumber=S108093000600177000a.jpg&recordId=296899 - (accessed 29 Sep 2013) He lists his sons, except for Robert, but mentions Robert's 2 sons Isaac and Benjamin. Robert had predeceased his father in a shoot out with British troops over some misappropriated chickens (not known if it was him or them).
