Daniel was born in 1799 on the Glenscorrodale Farm on the Isle of Arran in Scotland, son of Alexander Love (abt.1769-) and Mary Cook (abt.1769-).[1] This farm still exists and can be viewed on this map link [1]. Click the following link to see of photo of the farm buildings.[2]
He moved to mainland Scotland where he lived in Ardrossan and worked as a schoolmaster.
He married his first wife Mary (Duncan) Love (abt.1816-aft.1841) in 1836. They had one son, Alexander Love (1837-1922).
Presumably Mary died because he married again to Elizabeth Hamilton in 1846.
He emigrated to Canada between 1851 and 1854.
In 1861 and 1871 his occupation was listed as farmer.
He passed away after 1871.
