James Granville "Granville" Love was born 12 Jun 1896 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA [1] [2] [3] [4] to James Guthrie Love and Margaret Leona Utterback. [5] [6] He served in WW I as 1st Sergeant in Co. B., 210th Engineers, 10th Div., [1] enlisting 16 May 1918 and discharged 8 Mar 1919. [7] He married Sarah "Sadie" Elizabeth Davis [8] on 21 Apr 1920 in Crawfordsville, Washington Co., Iowa, USA. [9]

Granville and Sadie had the following children: [1] [10]

When the twins were a little more than two years old, Sadie died of pneumonia in 1933. The children were cared for by a live-in housekeeper, Nan Ritchey, their father, and an aunt on the adjoining farm. Granville married 2) Lois Harper in 1940. [13]
