John Lovel, born about 1255. He married (1st) about 1270 Isabel (or Elizabeth) Du Bois, daughter of Arnold du Bois, by Alice, daughter of Henry de Tubney. They had one daughter, Maud. His wife, Isabel, died in or before 1279. He married (2nd) Joan De Roos, daughter of Robert de Roos, by Isabel, daughter of William d'Aubeney. They had three sons, John [2nd Lord Lovel], James, and Thomas.
