Biography
Birth Based upon the baptism record of his oldest son, John, Alexander Lovel was probably born between 1585 and 1595. Since his childrens baptisms (Daventry parish) and his burial (Yelvertoft parish) occur in Northamptonshire towns all within about 11 miles (17 KM) of each other it is likely he was also born in Northamptonshire.
Wife and Sons
Based upon their sons baptism record Alexander Lovell married Elizabeth ____ in or before 1617. A previous note in this record stated: "At this time a basis for her having the LNAB of Dunkley cannot be supported other than what is found in speculative personal ancestry tree's such as the 'Millenium Files'.". However, this does not take into account the start of the year being March 25, not January 1. Thus, it is entirely possible that the dates are correct, and that Alexander and Elizabeth married 20 May 1617, and had a child 24 Feb 1617 (OS/1618 NS). Freereg.org.uk indeed transcribes the christening of John Lovell as 24 Feb 1617/18,[1] so safely after the 20 May 1617 marriage.
The marriage of 20 May 1617 appears on freereg.org.uk[2] and it should be remembered that some of the family's records are transcribed as "Lovell" and some as "Lovet".
Further, the early immigrants to Medfield, Massachusetts (Alexander Lovell) and Ipswich, Massachusetts (Thomas Lovell) both gave depositions giving ages that match these records and both men named sons Alexander and Nathaniel. In Thomas' deposition he stated explicitly that he lived with the Michael Bacon family in Ireland which may be the source of speculation that Alexander did the same.
In the following records parents Alexander and Elizabeth Lovel have their children baptised:
John filius Alexander and Elizabeth "Lovell" baptised 24 Feb 1617/18(OS/1618NS), Daventry, Northamptonshire, England. [3][4][5]
Alexander filius Alexander and Elizabeth "Lovel" baptised 29 August 1619, Daventry, Northamptonshire, England. [6][7]
Thomas filius Alex and Eliz Lovell baptised 10 Mar 1620 (OS/10 Mar 1621 NS), Daventry, Northamptonshire, England.[8]
Burial Alexander Lovel was buried June 1630 at Yelvertoft, Northamptonshire, England. [9], [10]
Town Location Distances
Guilsborough, Northampton, England is about 11 miles (17.7 KM) northeast from Daventry.
Daventry, Northampton is about 9.7 miles (15.6 KM) from Yelvertoft.

Are there any sources for this profile? The ones currently shown are - unusable. His son's baptism record calls him Alexander, not Phillip. What is the source for Philip? And is there a source for his marriage to Elizabeth?
Wonderful job, Janie. Thank you *very* much, this profile looks great! Would you know if there was a will for Alexander? We're looking for proof that the son Alexander was the man found in New England by 1652.
