Biography

Hubert Foster Lowe was born in 1861.^[1] He was the son of William Bevington Lowe and his wife Rachel Jane Lloyd.^[2] A mathematician and chemist, his career began as an academic at Oxford but he later worked for the Patent Office. In 1888 he married Kathleen Mary Wilmott,^[3] and they had eight children. He passed away in 1938.^[4]
