Benjamin Lowe, bachelor and farmer age 33, married Caroline Dorsett, spinster age 19 on 13 Sep. bet. 1868 and 1882.[2] The year was not in the image and was guessed from circumstantial evidence to be 1875 or 1874.
The relationship between Benjamin Lowe m. Caroline Dorsett and the Benjamin Lowe of this profile has yet to be determined, but circumstantial evidence indicates that they may be the same person. This is based on the approximate birth year, calculated from estimated marriage year and his stated age. Also, the first born son usually is named after the father in cases when a son is named after the father. This evidence would hint that John should be older than Benjamin. If Benjamin's birth year were 1842, this would more closely conform to the usual onomastic naming patterns.
