MYTH BUSTED: - Sarah Lowe has often been confused with having married her father-in-law William Rogers 1748-1835 in lieu of his son William Rogers 1772-1842 by researchers who merged the father and son together. William Roger's 1772-1842 father William Rogers 1748-1835 married Veletta Downing (See DAR profile for her father-in-law). And his father has also been confused with the William Rogers 1740-1810, son of Matthew Rogers 1714 to 1718 who died abt. 1767 in Hampshire County, VA. (now Mineral County, W.V.). So we have three separate and distinct 'William Rogers', but only two of them were related, and only one of them married Sarah Lowe.

Listed below is other research suggests the following info for this Sarah (Lowe) Rogers. Sarah was born about 1772 in Cripple Creek, Botetourt County (later Wythe County), Virginia, daughter of William Lowe and Elizabeth Davenport.

Lowe-2812 and Lowe-6830 appear to represent the same person because: The profile Lowe-6830 had Sarah Lowe married to the William Rogers 1748-1835 (, the father of the William Rogers who married Sarah Lowe. I removed the marriage link of the Sarah Lowe to her father-in-law to facilitate the merger of the two Sarah Lowe's.
