Edith Mae Lowe was born September 1877 in Key West, Florida to Gideon William Lowe and Tahpenes Ann Kemp. <1>
Edith lived in the household of her parents <2, 3> until she married William Harvey Pent 3 April 1895 in Key West < 4>. By the time of the 1900 census, the couple was living in Miami, where William was employed as a barber. The couple had three daughters, Gladys Mae, Edith Mae and Drothy. The first child died young.
William Harvey Pent died 26 July 1910 at age 39 leaving Edith a widow with two children.
Edith quickly remarried. She married William Friederich Herman 20 August 1910 in Dade County, Florida. The 1920 US Census show the couple living in Key West, William was employed as a dredge boat captain <9>. From about 1930 until their deaths, Edith and William lived in Hialeah, Florida where William worked for the Hialeah water works <10, 11>. William passed away in 1945 and Edith in 1947 <14>.
