She married Henry Ward Johnson on 23 February 1929 in Bradenton, Manatee County, in a ceremony performed by H. C. Hardin.[2] The witnesses were Mrs. H. C. Hardin and India Clare Hardin.
Virginia died on 20 December 1996 in Bradenton,[3] and she is buried there in the Fogartyville Cemetery.[4]
