Susie is the daughter of Carl Lower and Judy Farwell.
She was named after her mom's family dog, which explains why she prefers the name "Susanne."
Susie grew up in El Cajon, CA.
She went to school at Granite Hills High School and graduated in 1984. She then earned her Bachelor of Arts in Literature at Point Loma Nazarene University and her Master of Arts in English (concentration in Medieval Literature) at the University of San Diego.
Susanne worked as an Instructor in the Literature Department of Point Loma Nazarene University for three years. She has been home educating her children through Heritage Christian School since 1997 and has been teaching online writing and language arts courses with Brave Writer since 2002.
