Biography

Son of William and Margaret Lowman.

David was a miller.

His first marriage was to Rachel Tribbet, daughter of John Tribbet, 1 May 1837 in Rockbridge County, Virginia.[1]

In 1850 he and his wife Rachel and seven children were living in Rockbridge County, Virginia.[2]

In 1860 David Lowman was living in the household of George Lackey in Rockbridge County, Virginia. He was age 48.[3]

David "Sowman" was a widower in 1861 when he married Mary C. (Kelso) Frazier, daughter of Hugh Kelso. Surname recorded as Sowman in[4]Surname recorded as Lowman in [5]

His third marriage was to Mrs. Ann E. Armentrout. Her mother's LNAB was Clinebell or Clainbell. 10 May 1866 in Rockbridge County.[6]

In 1870 the family was living in Rockbridge County.

In 1880 David was a widower and living with his children David, Susan, Mary and Sarah and grandson John M. Lowman, age 7.[8]

James was born in 1812. He was the son of Wilhelm Lauman and Margaret Clinebell. He passed away in 1891.[9]

Lowman-935 and Lowman-303 appear to represent the same person because: Same birth and death dates; same first wife. The Augusta County birthplace is found in his second marriage record.
