Biography

When Claire Adele May "Adley" Lowrey was born on May 5, 1864, in Sonoma, California, her father, William, was 38, and her mother, Elvira, was 33. She married Robert Francis (Clonts) York on November 30, 1881, in Yorkville, California. They had two children:

• Emmett Francis (1885–1935)
• Maude Marie (1885–1942)

Their union ended before 1894, the year she remarried to George Hoffman.^[1] She died on March 31, 1937, in Martinez, California,^[2] at the age of 72, and was buried with family members in the Santa Rosa Rural Cemetery (Plot Rural EHC 14). ^[3]
