The tradition is , that he was a younger son of the family of Laurie of Maxwelton, Dumfries, in Scotland.[2]
The Lowry-Corry Families of Castle Coole, were two families who left Dumfries, Scotland in the mid 17th century to settle in Ireland, in counties Fermanagh and Tyrone.
James Lowry of Ballymagorry, near Strabane, County Tyrone; appears to have settled in county Tyrone before 1641 [3] [4]
He married Isabel Brissenden Braickine (1600-1659) in about 1622-1624 at Perthshire, Scotland.
Children:
He died about 1660-1665 intestate in Ballynagorry, County Tyrone. In the year 1665 , letters of administration were granted to his eldest son and heir John Lowry.

Email sent to manager of profile dated 01/28/20 Hi, I hope I'm correct in saying that I suspect this could be Sir James William Lowry (27 Dec 1601-22 Nov 1661). My Ancestry tree shows him being born in Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland and passing away in County Tyrone, Ireland. He married Isabel Brissenden Braickine (1600-1659) in about 1622-1624 at Perthshire, Scotland. He and Isabel were my 9th great grandparents.
