Mary Lowry (married name Sellings) was born in 1834 in Ballastarsne, County Tipperary, Ireland, the daughter of Bridget Leuk and Thomas Lowry.^{[citation needed]}

She married Benjamin Sellings on 16 November 1859 in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.^[1] Their children were:

• Johanna Sellings (1868–?)^[5]
