I am a descendant of John and Catherine Loy, circa 1805 from Loudoun County, Virginia. His son Joseph Franklin Loy is my great-grandfather. Joseph Franklin Loy had 2 wives, of which I am descended from his second wife, Catherine Rebecca McCoy Loy. Catherine Rebecca had a son whom she named Ernest, before she married Joseph Franklin Loy. I don't know if he went by the name of McCoy or Loy. I believe the latter, But he was not raised by Joseph Franklin. In fact, I found that this Ernest documented his own birth certificate 2 months after his mother's death. I have pictures of him and he looks almost exactly like my own father, who happens to be named Ernest Milton Loy. I will attempt to upload pictures of them, both, I will write more information of my lineage at a later date.
