Research Notes
I do not have any "official" source of this Henry being the son of Henry Loyd who was married to Rebecca Griffin. However, on Ancestry.com Thrulines, I have 4 DNA matches through two of the children of Henry Jr. and Nancy West: Jenetta Loyd Carner and John Henry Lloyd. This makes me fairly comfortable that there is a connection. The other son, Ensign Levi Henry Lloyd, is my direct ancestor with 94 DNA matches to him!!! Interesting to note that Levi is always referred to as Levi not Henry. BJS
FamilySearch. Virginia Marriages, 1785-1940 (Note: FamilySearch has Nov 1808 as marriage date. A lot of the scanned pages on FamilySearch are light and difficult to read. Hinshaw's listed the bond date as 1809, 2, 11 which would mean 11 Nov 1809 so that is the date I am using. BJS)
